First day of the Dakar Rally 2012 has casualties. Participants in the bike category of Argentine, Jorge Martinez Boero died after an accident.Boero (38 years) fell off the stage as it passes between Mar del Plata and Santa Rosa de la Pampa in Argentina. As reported by the BBC, local police said that Martinez Boero dead when brought to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the organizers said that the Argentine rider who has performed the second time in the Dakar Rally, suffered a heart attack after falling. He was taken by helicopter but his life has not helped.
This is a year-to-33 Rally Dakar rally which became one of the most dangerous in the world, was held. In this 2012 Dakar Rally participants start from Argentina through Chile, Peru before the finish in the Peru capital, Lima on 15 January.
In the bike category Chilean rider Francisco Lopez with Aprilia RXV 450 won the opening stage. Russian Leonid Novitskiy leading racer in the car category and Marcel Van Vliet of the Netherlands ahead in the truck category.
